The role of a CATECHIST is to enrich the faith formation of children. Communicate by word and attitude that the parish community is in partnership with the family. Catechists affirm parents as vital and competent in nurturing their families spirituality.
Qualifications of a Catechist:1. Desire to share our faith
2. Ability to relate to others
3. Attends Mass weekly
4. Confirmed Catholic
5. SAFE ENVIRONMENT trained
Requirements:1. A nine-month commitment (usually September through April)
2. Become part of a small faith community
3. Work in a prayerful and cooperative environment
4. Dedicated to one's own spiritual formation
5. Attend 2 in-service workshops and two, 2-hour catechist modules (Archdiocesan training sessions)
